Name: Amy Taylor
Where are you from: Born in Litchfield,
moved to La Isla Del Encanto ( Puerto Rico ) and fell madly in love
with tropical music. I missed the cold weather so much (kidding)
that I moved back to Connecticut . I now live in Litchfield.
Job Description: Afternoon Drive
Host/News Anchor
Radio History: I started as a
newscaster at WRSJ in Puerto Rico in 1995. I moved back to Litchfield
in 1996 and started working for WZBG. Music has always been a large
part of who I am. It was just the natural progression of things
for me to become a DJ.
Pets: Low-maintenance goldfish
and an African Claw Frog. (Baby steps, baby steps.)
Favorite Artists: Bebe, Alejandro
Sanz, Shakira, Cristian Castro, Gilberto Santa Rosa, (I know, you're
all saying who?)
Song that best describes you (or favorite
song): Of course I'm going to say one of my
songs. La Playa (the beach) appears on Alberto Shiroma's
latest album Camelia de la Noche. (Released spring
2005) My husband and I wrote about half the songs on the album during
the cruel Connecticut winter. La Playa makes me smile to
think of warm Caribbean waters especially when it's below zero up
here!
Favorite movies: The Incredibles,
Shrek 2. (Hey, I have kids. All I get to see are the animated
motion pictures.)
Turn Ons: Unexpected goodness
in people.
Pet Peeves/Turn Offs: Perfume
sprayers at malls. Seriously, there ought to be a law. Vanillaroma
is up there, too.
Most memorable moment in radio:
Covering the hurricanes. Scary stuff.
