Name: John D. Ozerhoski (aka Johnny O)
Where are you
from: John is a Thomaston native now living in Bristol with his wife, Rebecca.
Job
Description: I work part-time at ZBG as host of my
own show on Saturday Mornings. The show is called “Backstage,” and
is dedicated to the community theatre scene in and
around Litchfield County.
Radio History: I am a 1993 graduate of the Connecticut
School of Broadcasting. I began working at ZBG as a
board operator and eventually started training with
Amy Taylor to be her fill-in when she was on vacation
or out sick. I was the host of “The Afternoon
Drive Show” the summer of ’03 while Amy
took a 3-1/2 month maternity leave. A truly great experience!
Pets: None at the moment, but I love dogs!
Favorite Artists: It
certainly varies. I love oldies, classic rock, and
classical music. Van Halen to Wagner!
My favorite artists are Anthony Warlow, Phillip Quast,
and Linda Eder, all Broadway performers.
Favorite song: “Can’t
Help Falling in Love” by
Elvis Presley
Favorite movies: The “Star
Wars” saga
and most anything with Clint Eastwood.
Pet Peeves: Ignorance
and divas!
Most memorable moment in
radio: I have 2
actually. The debut of my own show, “Backstage,” on
May 11th, 2002, and my last show filling in for Amy
Taylor during her maternity leave on August 29, 2003.
