Winsted Pet Parade

The 87th Annual Rotary Pet Parade will delight children of all ages Saturday, May 17th at 2pm – rain or shine – on Winsted’s Main Street. The oldest Pet Parade in the nation joins forces with the 91st Laurel Festival & Parade to make one grand EVENT. All children from Winsted, Torrington, Norfolk, New Hartford, Barkhamsted and Colebrook are invited to JOIN this annual spring tradition organized by the Rotary Club of the Torrington–Winsted Areas. This merged Winsted spectacle will feature 21 parade units, floats and wagons, pets, scouts, youth GROUPS, dogs, bikes, small self-propelled vehicles, floats, horses & ponies, 3 marching bands and decorated cars with Pet & Laurel Parade themes, as well as Rotary and local dignitaries. all children MAY PARTICIPATE even if they don’t own a pet. The parade divisions include: small floats, wagons and doll carriages that might contain a child, pet or stuffed animal. LIVE animals must be carried, caged or on a leash.  Children may also register the day of the Parade at the line–up on Meadow Street between 1 & 1:30. All winning parade division winners will get a medal at the East End Park afterwards. other prizes may include a $100 Amazon card or a bike. The “Best in Parade” winner, will receive a $100 prize.
