Sweet Potato Hike

White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield invites you to their 3^rd Annual “Sweet Hike” Saturday, January 10^th. In the late 19^th century hot potato vendors peddled their wares on the busy streets of Manhattan, offering a popular and simple snack to New Yorkers. Known as “Mickeys,” these hot, baked potatoes were a beloved street food.  White Memorial loves old-fashioned stuff. Step into the past with Gerri Griswold and Kelly Orr as they lead you on a pretty winter hike to the Pine Grove Campsite where you’ll be greeted with a roaring fire and indulge in a time-honored treat of roasted sweet potatoes. Comforting mulled cider will also be on hand! Meet in the Museum at 2 p.m. Free to members, just $10 for non- members. Pre-registration is required at www.whitememorialcc.org
